Fairly fun, if less charming than I hoped. It's a good bet to cast Lily Tomlin when "kooky" is called for, but I think they were seeking something blonder than her. Art Carney hit the right notes, if a little bit routinely. But it was less funny than I hoped, flatter somehow. Bad production design. It told a truth about LA, as a noir set there is required to do, but it kept being talky when I wanted it to be atmospheric and murderous when I wanted it to be funny. Also, the title is awful, not related to the content in any meaningful way and much too generic.
