A blatant, obvious Jaws ripoff. Some of the worst camerawork I have EVER seen, just horribly shot, but was otherwise a pretty funny failure. Not scary in the least. Shelley Winters wears a gigantic sombrero which is never explained; John Huston wears exactly the same jacket he wears in multiple other 70s movies; Henry Fonda yells for about four minutes of screen time and clearly reads lines from a card to the side. Bo Hopkins is about 15 years younger in this than I'm used to seeing him, but he looks approximately the same. He has a big meaningful speech at the end given to two orcas. It kind of interests me that orcas are the good guys in this movie (they even kill the octopus at the end) when an orca is a killer in Orca, from the same year.
